for Manchester Literature Festival

Throughout 2017 Squad grads Lenni Sanders and James Varney led a group of writers aged 16-21 who met in Manchester Central Library once a month. For one workshop we crossed the Square to Manchester Art Gallery, and used Martin Parr’s exhibition Strange and Familiar as an inspiration. We also wnet for a tram ride, exploring the area round the Etihad Campus and New Islington, ending the day looking down on the city from the 23rd floor of Beetham Tower.

We shared the results as a special Manchester Literature Festival event in December 2017.
