Amy Luxton
Amy is a writer chiefly of long fiction. Starting out with fantasy, she switched to historical fiction when she was eighteen after winning the Chalke Valley History Festival’s novel competition. She studied English and Creative Writing at Lancaster University and has written adult novels set in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. She also completed a novel with Writers Block North East is currently writing a new novel set on the Yorkshire coast.
Although long fiction will always be her main love, Amy has also written a collection of ghost stories, experimenting with different time periods and styles. She came runner-up in the Petersfield Bookshop ghost story competition in 2023.
She loves to create stories about ordinary people caught up in extraordinary circumstances and explore constrained timelines, gothic themes and small communities.
