Chaz studied English and Creative Writing at the University of Hull, where she launched a student-run creative writing magazine and delivered writing workshops for the English Society and has since delivered workshops for Writing Squad projects in Hull and Yorkshire.
After university, she did several short intern stints at publishers and agencies. This mostly included reading from the slush pile and editing manuscripts. She likes to think she has a good eye – the first manuscript she recommended to her agent was accepted and has been published by HarperCollins. She still beta-reads and critiques manuscripts.
She took a short break from writing while she served in the military. Now she’s using the experience to fuel her short stories and creative non-fiction.
She’s looking for her next career, but while she waits, she enjoys delivering creative writing workshops to other young hopefuls.
