We’ve Been Hannahed!

The Writing Squad is delighted to be in the latest Hannah Directory a compilation of people ‘doing stuff’ in the north of England. In the words of Andrew Wilson the tireless energy behind the Hannah Festival, “The Directory celebrates people who step out of their front door, crack on and make things happen.” Our Director, Steve Dearden, also features as does Squad grad Georgia Affonso in her role of manager of the No Dice Collective..

You can pick up the Directory in indie book stores, or visit the online version. The festival is named after Hannah Mitchell (1872–1956) a lifelong fighter for democracy and fairness. Imprisoned in Strangeways in 1906 during the campaign for votes for women, she went on to become a councillor in Manchester, representing Newton Heath.
