Off the Shelf Festival with Simon Armitage

Squad grad Warda Yassin feature’s in this year’s Off The Shelf festival hosted by Hive South Yorkshire with a special poetry drive-in. Supporting poet laureate Simon Armitage, this will be an evening of sonnets and bonnets – park up as Simon Armitage takes centre stage at this unique poetry drive-in. Performing for a socially distanced audience in their cars, Simon will be premiering two new works commissioned by Off the Shelf celebrating former Poet Laureate Ted Hughes’ time in Mexborough. Simon will also read from his latest book Magnetic Field: The Marsden Poems a wonderful collection evoking a sense of place – in this case his beloved West Yorkshire.
