Jamal and My White Best Friend North

Jamal Gerald is one of several writers (along with Writing Squad core team member Malika Booker) contributing to My White Best Friend: North. 

Based on Rachel De-Lahay’s original concept, Eclipse Theatre are working with the Royal Exchange Theatre and the Liverpool Everyman to commission a series of personal letters from black and ethnically diverse writers across the North, exploring the poignant, personal, political (and often funny) things we don’t say.

The letters will be performed alongside De-Lahay’s original letter at a range of venues including the Holbeck, the Northern School of Contemporary Dance and the Left Bank in Leeds. You can find out more, and book tickets here.
