Beth is Sheffield Poet Laureate

Congratulations to Beth Davies, who has been announced at Sheffield Poet Laureate 2024-26 at Off the Shelf Festival. The award follows the publication of Beth’s debut pamphlet The Pretence of Understanding in 2023. Beth takes over the role from Danae Wellington, who presented the award. The honour is given for outstanding creative achievements. The aim of the laureateship is to champion engagement in poetry and support its wider community reach.
