Billie Longlisted for Verity Bargate and Joins Climate Spring’s Hot House 2024
Billie Collins is one of the six winners of Climate Spring’s The Hot House 2024 writers’ development lab, which this year focuses on ‘stories of the climate transition’. Six new original screenplays will now be created with Climate Spring (in partnership with BBC Writers and Film London). The winning writers enter a three-month development phase to turn their projects into long-form TV and feature films. Each winner receives £1000 and tailored editorial and industry support. Billie’s project, WORMS, follows a rookie funeral director, who must confront a storm of controversy when she decides to compost her dad.
Billie has also recently been longlisted for the Verity Bargate Award 2024 Longlist for their play The Walrus Has a Right to Adventure. The play is one of 20 selected from 1700 submissions.
