Each of the stories in Gemma’s new short fiction collection Ways of Living was drafted while walking in London, and each incorporates memories and encounters, ideas and overheard conversations. It’s a book about how women navigate the city and map their identities onto its streets.

In the workshop, we’ll consider the relationship between walking, imagining, writing and place. We’ll read extracts from city writers and rambling poets, explore the line between fiction and fact, and write about the creative potential of our lives.
