Jamal Receives Jerwood Arts Live Work Fund Award

A huge congratulations to Jamal Gerald who is a recipient of a Jerwood Arts  Live Work Fund Award this year.

The Award will enable Jamal to set up a company that creates opportunities for Black queer artists. This year, he will also research the Jumbie dance of Montserrat from a contemporary queer perspective, resurrecting an essential aspect of Montserratian heritage.

There are 33 Live Work Fund Awardees, with each artist receiving £20,000 to develop their practice and adapt through the challenges of covid-19.
