James Delivers Creative Care

Manchester City of Literature have commissioned Squad 7 grad James Varney to write a Creative Care Package for vulnerable young people in Greater Manchester. The Package will feature writing exercises encouraging young people to play with language and meaning, and think about their personal relationship to place and Manchester as a city.

James says of the commission, “It feels good to be able to connect with young people using creative writing, despite the ongoing pandemic. All our worlds have suddenly become much smaller. Working on these resources gives me hope that the act of writing can still inspire a younger generation to reimagine and reshape the world we share.”

The Creative Care Package is planned to be shared on 1 June, physically and in .pdf form on the Manchester City of Literature website: http://www.manchestercityofliterature.com/
