Katie Wins AACTA Pitch

Katie Huggins has been announced as the winner of the AACTA (Australian Academy Cinema Television Arts) Pitch: Regional Landscapes initiative.

Her winning feature film pitch THE DEB is about a teen boy in a small, rural town, who wants to take part in the town’s Debutant Ball – as his Drag Queen persona.

The Regional Landscapes initiative aims to champion films that explore and celebrate regional Australia, supported by Screenworks and the Australian Writers Guild. Katie will receive professional script development sessions, mentoring, profiling and industry opportunities and more.
