May’s England at the Young Vic

Squad grad May Sumbwanyambe will feature in My England, a celebration of playwrights from across regions of England, hosted by the Young Vic. My England will explore what it means to be English through video monologues shown on the Young Vic social media channels as part of Kwame Kwei-Armah’s first season at the theatre as artistic director.

May is also an associate lecturer at Edinburgh Napier University, where he runs the MFA Directing and MFA Playwriting courses. Currently recruiting for their next academic year, the course offers the lowest tuition fees around the whole country and are the only masters course that guarantees students a 30 day professional run of their play at the Edinburgh Fringe. The course also welcomes applicants from outside of Edinburgh, as students do not need to live locally to participate due to the course structure. More application details here!
