Old Tom’s Anniversary
Robinsons Brewery, Stockport
_
Robinsons, Stockport’s oldest brewery celebrates 125 years of its famous strong beer, Old Tom, during November. The dark ale, developed by head brewer Alfred Munton, was named after the brewery’s cat Tom. Alfred’s hand-sketched drawing became the first logo for the beer.
As part of the celebrations Robinson’s commissioned Squad grad Gregory Kearns to craft poems from the memories, stories and feelings about Old Tom for a wall tribute on Stockport’s Arden Arms and on beer mats to be found in a selection of Robinsons pubs throughout north Wales and the north west of England.
