Watershed was a spin-off of IVE’s Ignite project, set up by Marie Millward and funded by Great Places Lakes & Dales and the National Heritage Lottery Fund. Our intention was to explore how young people in Skipton aged 14-19 might use a barge on the Leeds Liverpool Canal as a creative space. The barge was provided and crewed by Canal Connections.

Squad grads led workshops on evenings and a Sunday in November 2019, Lauren Vevers on zine making and Jasmine Simms on songwriting. The Squad’s Director Steve Dearden also led a couple writing workshops. We are ow reviewing how this work might be taken forward in 2020.
