Yorkshire Dance Encounters
Leeds
_
Yorkshire Dance champions the value of dance and its development in Yorkshire. They create opportunities for people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to see, make and take part in high quality dance. Through their Encounters Festivals they explore various aspects of dance in a series of workshops, discussions and performances over a couple of days. Writing Squad writers have been invited to make creative responses so far to Encounters exploring Women in dance, gender diversity in dance and reimagining age through dance.
Completed work by Squad writers – a monologue by Tife Kusoro, a poem and commentary by Laura Potts, a comic reflection by Jenny O’Sullivan – and in the intergenerational nature of the reimagining age days, three poems by Jessica Wood and some prose from Squad Director Steve Dearden can all be read in PUSH 15
