Anna Chauri Phillips
Anna is a scriptwriter for television, film and theatre. Anna has a background in scripted television development as a graduate of the Channel 4 Production Training Scheme 22/23. During the scheme, Anna was placed at Rollem Productions as a Scripted Development Assistant before being promoted as a Development Executive, working across comedy and drama and pitching to major UK broadcasters. Following a period working freelance as a model, actor and assistant director, Anna now works at The Forge as the Executive Assistant to George Faber.
Anna’s other pursuits include working as a journalist, having worked for GUAP Magazine and been a finalist on the inaugural Vogue Business Talent Competition, where she received mentorship from Vogue Business editors. Whilst studying History of Art at the University of Edinburgh, Anna trained as an actor at the National Youth Theatre, where she is currently a member.
Anna’s work is unified by her commitment to tell stories that reflect the nuances of marginalised, misrepresented communities in modern Britain. She draws on her multicultural upbringing as a British Kenyan woman to connect with diverse audiences and probe questions at divisions within and outside of marginalised communities.
