Ellen Waters
Ellen Waters is a Manchester-born poet whose work has been featured in Viral Verses: Art in Exceptional Times, Indigo Literary Journal, and JFA Human Rights Journal. Her work is preoccupied with landscapes, liminal spaces, mutable memory, and embodied experiences of womanhood. She studied English & Related Literature at the University of York and wrote about the poetry of Olivia Gatwood, exploring spoken word, media ethics, and gendered violence through an intersectional feminist lens.
She currently works in marketing at Write the World, a nonprofit helping teen writers worldwide to develop their skills. She is dedicated to widening access to writing and provides support with competitions, community engagement, social media, and facilitating workshops.
She is a co-editor for Sink Magazine, a literary magazine platforming writers and creatives from the North of England. In the past she has worked on a poetry project at The Yorkshire Museum, was Deputy EIC of The Looking Glass Anthology, and has written with The Poetry Society and New Writing North.
