Naomi Thomas
Naomi chiefly writes short fiction, often with a strong sense of the uncanny or surreal. She was shortlisted for the BBC Young Writers’ Award 2020, a senior runner up in the George Orwell Youth Prize 2020, and highly commended for the Young Northern Writers’ Award 2020. Her work has also appeared in Sheffield Hallam’s journal MATTER, and has won two Sheffield-based competitions.
In the past, Naomi has used her creative skills to produce promotional social media posts, infographics or video interviews for various local organisations. As a member of the Orwell Youth Fellows, she contributes to podcasts, articles and blog posts that are shared through the Orwell Foundation website. She is currently studying English and Related Literatures at the University of York.
