Ruth is a writer originally from Wakefield in West Yorkshire now living in London. In 2024, Ruth graduated from Birkbeck College with an MA in Text and Performance where she was awarded the Methuen Drama Best Text for Performance Prize for her dissertation play about climate change and the rhubarb triangle.

Ruth was the Fuse writer in residence at Leeds Playhouse from 2019 to 2020. Last year, they scratched work at Deptford Lounge and Riverside Studios, Hammersmith.

During her BA, Ruth was the News Editor of York Vision and received the Student Publication Award for Best Sports Reporter in 2022 for her sports stories including one on pub sports and one about trans student athletes.
