Yuan Changes Work Practices at Apple Supplier
Squad grad, and Beijing Correspondent for the Financial Times, Yuan Yang recently spent two days at Foxxcon, Apple’s main supplier in China. While there she discovered that local students were forced to work overtime constructing the new iPhone X and wrote about this illegal practice in the FT.
The stories were taken up by many other media outlets including Bloomberg, The Guardian and BBC World Service Business Matters, on which Yuan is a regular guest. Apple and Foxxcon now claim to have ended the practice of forcing student interns to work over their legal hours limit.
